Trial session

You can have one or more 'trial' sessions with the club before joining as a member, whatever level of experience you have. For organisational reasons, trail sessions for complete beginners are only available on specific outings at the beginning of each month. Please refer to the calendar for more information. For non-members, a fee of 15 euros will be charged at each session to cover costs of equipment, insurance and instruction. After this, if you want to continue, you can subscribe to join the club as a member.

You are not required to have a medical certificate to take part in a trial session, but you must have adequat clothing (to stay warm if wet, and closed footwear) and be able to swim 25m (with ease and without panic, and cope with being briefly submerged underwater). You must inform the instructor of any special medical conditions.

Your membership fees to the CERN Canoe-Kayak club pay for your Federation Francaise de Canoe-Kayak license, which provides a certain level of river access rights, insurance, discounts, and simplified entry to any event organised by the FFCK across France.

This license is obligatory.

Members of the CERN Staff Association are entitled to a single discount of  10 euros on presentation of their Staff Association membership card.
